Sails - Elegant, spacious beach villa

Lovely stay and so nice to see it there after 25 years. Positive: Very nice property. Negative: Loved the cottage feel although it’s getting a bit tired. That didn’t worry me at all just letting you know.

We will definitely be back, hopefully for a longer stay. Positive: Such a lovely property - really appreciated the little extras with breakfast condiments. All the cooking equipment and utensils were good quality and matching!! The gas fireplace was so nice. Also the balcony was so lovely to sit out and have a drink. Negative: Nothing

Positive: Beautiful cottage, very spacious and quaint. Comfy beds and great showers. A really lovely place to stay a bit further out of the town centre. Wish we could have stayed longer

We arrived late and were instructed to go to “Number 2,” yet none of the accommodations are numbered. There is no signage. I had to walk around knocking on doors and asking other guests, none of whom knew which unit was which. It took an unreasonable amount of time to locate the property. Multiple calls and messages to the owner went unanswered. Communication remained nonexistent throughout the stay. Requests for basic cleaning equipment (mop and vacuum) were ignored. There was no cleaning service during our three-day stay, forcing me to purchase my own mop just to maintain basic hygiene. Despite booking the entire accommodation, I was later told I could only use two bedrooms because there were four of us. I have never experienced anything like this before and consider it misleading at best. The property is grossly overpriced. Air-conditioning was advertised, yet there is no air-conditioning in the living area, only one unit in an upstairs bedroom. We stayed during extreme summer heat (40°C+). The living spaces were uninhabitable at night, and the children were unable to sleep. The only alternative provided was a low-quality standing fan. Had I not brought my own fan, the situation would have been unbearable. We were charged for children, yet no portacot was provided. The building is old and poorly maintained. The water has a strong unpleasant taste and smell, requiring us to buy bottled water. Staircase carpets are badly worn, one downstairs bedroom is not carpeted at all, and the veranda deck is deteriorated and unfinished. It was not disclosed that the laundry facilities are not within the accommodation. Guests must walk approximately 150 metres to access a shared laundry.
